In a major success for Asansol North police station under the Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate, two accused were caught while delivering a stolen bike. The accused, Anant Sitaram Majhi from Kulti and Rakesh Prasad (24) from the Lal Mandir area, were arrested while bringing a stolen bike from Nirsa (Niyamtabad) in neighbouring Jharkhand.
According to sources in the ADPC, the bike had been stolen two days earlier from Niyamtabad and was to be delivered within the Asansol North police area. Before the delivery, the accused had sent advance information to the receiver, which led the police to suspect foul play.
